Haha I’m always baffled when I see this done with really expensive makeup, or by people who seem to otherwise be really informed and into doing their makeup as well as possible.
HOWEVER there are also a lot of people who are new to makeup or only do it for special occasions, and so I feel like the rhetorical “why” here can be answered with “because they can’t justify the cost of buying good brushes”.

Ehh what really. Seriously the shit I do with my makeup (including the scar effects) are often done with these silly spongey things. I have a bunch of expensive brushes as well but I don’t really use them that much unless I’m doing makeup for someone else…

I assumed this was referring to grabbing whatever came with the palette every time, regardless of what you were going for and what condition it was in (‘cause man those things get beaten up). imho using a new sponge applicator for certain effects because you know it works better for them is a very different situation.

Haha that’s exactly what I do, though. I simply just use the thing that came with the palette, unless it’s in terrible condition or if what I’m going for definitely requires the use of a brush.
If I can get away with using the free stick I just use it because it’s cheaper and easier, and 90% of the time it’s just as good… though that’s probably because I’m just more used to them in general.

After failing several times at painting this design on my nails, I finally gave in and bought some feathers. It’s easier than expected to put them on your nails and it looks soooo pretty.

These are actually real feathers from a pheasant. I found these on ebay. But I guess synthetic feathers for crafting would work also.

My base colour is 95E from the Manhattan&Buffalo line. I’m not sure if a base coat is necessary but I thought it might look prettier with a nude colour as base.

A few tips in case you want to try this too:

  • I figured small feathers work really well. Also less waste!
  • Always use a sharp pair of scissors to cut off the edges.
  • Put on more than one layer of clear top coat. I did 4 coats.

Just thought I’d bring this awesome product to everyones attention:
Graphtobian Fantasy Powder is a powder that goes on invisible, and when water hits it, it turns to blood. Take a spray bottle and look like you’ve gotten in a car accident, or drag a wet knife over the powder for instant cuts.
